Travel // Holiday Stay at Marriott Charlotte City Center

Staycation, retreat from your stressful week, weekend getaway, and treat yoself, what do all of these have in common?  Finding a great hotel in your city or one your close to and getting away and enjoying the weekend.  Charlotte is a place I love to visit often.  I actually went to college here and just love to come back and see how the city has grown and visit friends.

Current // 4 Days Till Christmas

Christmas is getting close!  I think the only online store you can still get things in time for Christmas is Amazon, plus its free.  I ordered almost everything from Amazon and Nordstrom's this Christmas.

Current // Easy Host Gift

Christmas party host, co workers who contribute to your success, an acquaintance who impacts you, teachers, hair dressers, your mailman. What do all these people have in common?  They deserve a gift, even if something small, to give them a "thank you" for all they do.  So I am sharing my 2016 go to gift for the people who help you do good, feel good, or serve you all year long.

Outfit Post // Vest is the Best

Holiday red is one of my favorites for the holiday season.  I absolutely fell in love with this bright red top from Hutch Designs.  It has everything you look for in a top.  It's v neck, tunic length, and 3/4 sleeve.  Pretty much this top is perfection.

Outfit Post // Coco for Buckley K

Still going strong is the off the shoulder top.  Especially a holiday version like this one from Buckley K. I want to share a little about this embelished brand.  Now that I am their rep in the southeast I have learned more about the girls behind Buckley K and where they get their inpseration.

Outfit Post // Thanksliving

Thanksgiving is almost here, turkey day is coming people.  Time to get ready for awkward family time, sometimes good sometimes bad food, football, and black Friday shopping.  This year will be a different holiday season for me.  First this will be the first Thanksgiving I will be away from my family.  I am headed to San Francisco with Reuben to spend it with his sister and her husband and their precious little girl.  So be prepared this is going to be a wordy post.  Sorry in advance.

As we get packed up and ready to head across the country I wanted to share some of these things I am thankful for.  I have recently heard the women who wrote One Thousand Gifts, Ann Voskamp.  She said something that is so important and has stayed with me since.  Live a life of thanksliving. Thanksgiving is not just for a holiday or a season of life.  I should be everyday, thanksliving.  So I challenge you to list 5 things you are thankful for and try and live a life of thanksliving, being thankful for life and all the gifts you have been given everyday.

1. I am thankful for the love and belief I have in God and His Son who saved us all.  I cherish this relationship more than anything else in the world.  His unending love for me is what motivates me to share his love with everyone I meet.

2.  My family, they are my rock and who I am thank God everyday for gifting me with them as support, friends, and confidants.

3. My health is very important to me.  Its an important gift that not everyone has received or has to be thankful for.  I am alive and living a healthy life.

4. My sweet Reuben.  I feel kinda cheesy saying this but I am so grateful he found me a year ago.  He is so sweet, calm, and smart.  He makes me be the better person i know I can be.  He is always wanting to be lazy with me or go and explore with me.  I am so lucky to have this amazing man in my life.

5.  That I live in America.  I am so thankful I am able to live in can call home the country of the free and the brave.  Its been a hard month for this country and I know we are strong and will get through this time.  I understand that everyone has fears and is scared of the unknown.  But that is what makes this country great is that we recognize that and help each other get through these hard times.  Like Ellen said " if you take away the lables we are far more alike than we are different", thanks Ellen for reminding us we are all human and all duck our head when we pull into a parking deck.

So I told you 5 of things I am thankful for, now it's your turn. I hope this post inspires you to be THANKFUL for the gifts you have been given and maybe try to write 5 things your thankful for, and keep it going who knows you might get to 1000.

Outfit Post // Spy Mood

faux suede trench

One of my favorite episodes of Sex and the City was the one where Samantha wore the wig, trench, and sunglasses to catch Mr. Richard Wright in the act, act of cheating.  I just loved her little alter ego that episode.  When I styled this trench and Show Me Your MUMU top from Indigeaux Denim Bar and Boutique, I was definitely channeling my inner spy from the 70's.

Outfit Post // Abstract Floral

Fall is officially here and I am loving this weather.  Its crisp with a bite in the air.  A couple of weekends ago my good friend got married in uptown Charlotte.  I wore this dress to her rehearsal dinner.  Most of my friends are not big on prints.  In fact all of them wore sold colors.  I on the other hand love a big bold beautiful print.  I love to stand out plus prints hide any unwanted problem areas that may make you feel self conscience about your body.
