Outfit Post // Thanksliving

Thanksgiving is almost here, turkey day is coming people.  Time to get ready for awkward family time, sometimes good sometimes bad food, football, and black Friday shopping.  This year will be a different holiday season for me.  First this will be the first Thanksgiving I will be away from my family.  I am headed to San Francisco with Reuben to spend it with his sister and her husband and their precious little girl.  So be prepared this is going to be a wordy post.  Sorry in advance.

As we get packed up and ready to head across the country I wanted to share some of these things I am thankful for.  I have recently heard the women who wrote One Thousand Gifts, Ann Voskamp.  She said something that is so important and has stayed with me since.  Live a life of thanksliving. Thanksgiving is not just for a holiday or a season of life.  I should be everyday, thanksliving.  So I challenge you to list 5 things you are thankful for and try and live a life of thanksliving, being thankful for life and all the gifts you have been given everyday.

1. I am thankful for the love and belief I have in God and His Son who saved us all.  I cherish this relationship more than anything else in the world.  His unending love for me is what motivates me to share his love with everyone I meet.

2.  My family, they are my rock and who I am thank God everyday for gifting me with them as support, friends, and confidants.

3. My health is very important to me.  Its an important gift that not everyone has received or has to be thankful for.  I am alive and living a healthy life.

4. My sweet Reuben.  I feel kinda cheesy saying this but I am so grateful he found me a year ago.  He is so sweet, calm, and smart.  He makes me be the better person i know I can be.  He is always wanting to be lazy with me or go and explore with me.  I am so lucky to have this amazing man in my life.

5.  That I live in America.  I am so thankful I am able to live in can call home the country of the free and the brave.  Its been a hard month for this country and I know we are strong and will get through this time.  I understand that everyone has fears and is scared of the unknown.  But that is what makes this country great is that we recognize that and help each other get through these hard times.  Like Ellen said " if you take away the lables we are far more alike than we are different", thanks Ellen for reminding us we are all human and all duck our head when we pull into a parking deck.

So I told you 5 of things I am thankful for, now it's your turn. I hope this post inspires you to be THANKFUL for the gifts you have been given and maybe try to write 5 things your thankful for, and keep it going who knows you might get to 1000.
